The bowling lounge is as far from the old bowling alley concept as you can get. Hardwood floors, high-tech video walls, custom sofas, and sophisticated fixtures invite the most discerning of the clientèle, while upscale restaurant items and a swanky bar leave them begging for more. The bowling lounge, or boutique bowling as it is sometimes called, is most successful in downtown, metropolitan areas with plenty of businesspeople serving as a base. We are not surprised to see dress codes and age requirements implemented in these facilities. From top to bottom, everything in the bowling lounge is refined and designed for a classy feel targeting the 21-37 year old demographic. As a result, proprietors are able to charge a premium, balancing restaurant, bowling, and bar revenues nearly equally.
